History
It all started with Javier, a born merchant, who arrived in Montreal in 2000 with the desire to improve himself. After years of working long days in bakeries, schools, and restaurants, he decided to follow his dream: to have his own place. He started selling food from his house, then at festivals, and later on the street, under the snow, with a small stove and a lot of hope.
His perseverance led him to open his first restaurant, despite the lack of light, floor, or bathrooms. With the help of friends and family, they painted, cooked, and opened. Today, El Rey del Taco is synonymous with perseverance, flavor, and Mexican pride. And it all started with a well-made tortilla.
